We have spent some time incorporating the i386 profiler code we have into the Kaffe snapshot that was available on the transvirtual web page 6/15/99. The profiling code currently only supports the i386 JIT, a minimal effort has been made to make sure that other architectures can still be compiled from the same source with minimal changes and we have verified that code compiles successfully on our DEC Alpha running DEC Unix. How do we get the modifications installed into the distribution of kaffe? This is still work in progress, but it is in a state that other people should find useful for performance tuning of Java programs. -Will Cohen ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ William Cohen cohen@ece.uah.edu Assistant Professor Electrical and Computer Engineering College of Engineering University of Alabama in Huntsville voice: 256/890-6830 Huntsville, AL 35899 fax: 256/890-6803 ECE Homepage: http://www.eb.uah.edu/ece/ecehome.html ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > > On Jun 8, 1999, Godmar Back wrote: > > > For these, the obvious solution is to not jit them (a la hotspot) --- > > but we need the infrastructure for that in place!
