Hello,
i would like to compile Kaffe for a Windows Mobile PDA (to be
specific, it is a QTek 9000, called also HTC Universal). This PDA has
an Intel Bulverde (PXA270) XScale CPU, which is (if i'm not wrong) an
ARM architecture. My ./configure line is :
AR=arm-wince-cegcc-ar.exe AS=arm-wince-cegcc-as.exe
CXX=arm-wince-cegcc-c++.exe CPP=arm-wince-cegcc-cpp.exe
CC=arm-wince-cegcc-gcc.exe LD=arm-wince-cegcc-ld.exe
NM=arm-wince-cegcc-nm.exe STRIP=arm-wince-cegcc-strip.exe ./configure
--disable-debug --disable-xprofiling --disable-xdebugging
--disable-feedback --without-profiling --without-stats --without-x
--without-esd --without-alsa --without-classpath-gtk-awt
--disable-gtk-peer --disable-gconf-peer
--with-classpath-classes=/cygdrive/c/classpath-0.96.1/lib/glibj.zip
--enable-gcj --enable-zlib-zip --with-staticlib --with-staticvm
--disable-shared --enable-pure-java-math --enable-xscale
--build=i386-cygwin --host=arm-unknown-cygwin
or --host=arm
but, after the usual ./configure output it gives:
....
checking build system type... i386-pc-cygwin
checking host system type... arm-unknown-cygwin
checking for special C compiler options needed for large files... no
checking for _FILE_OFFSET_BITS value needed for large files... unknown
checking for _LARGE_FILES value needed for large files... unknown
configure: error: Configuration arm-cygwin32 not supported
I checked the directory kaffe-src/config and there is only
arm/{linux,netbsd1,riscos} .
I work on cygwin and i'm using CeGCC, a cross-development tools for Windows CE
Has anyone a suggestion on how to compile Kaffe for Arm / Windows Mobile 5.0 ?
If this is a configuration not supported, do you think a porting will
be too complex ?
Thank you for your attention,
Mario Latronico
p.s: i've also seen the Kaffe CE project, but it is old (2002) and not
maintained anymore
