I submitted configure with generated file by autoconf 2.61 locally, but
the result is

On the other hand, snapshot of 061109 can be configured with changing
autoconf version from 2.60 back to 2.59 with no problem.

Anyway, I will test again with your mod tomorrow, as a weekly regression
test.
