[kaffe] NullPointerException when running ant-1.6.5 with kaffe-1.1.6

I've been experiencing frequent, but  NullPointerExceptions when
running ant-1.6.5:

Buildfile: build.xml
Internal error: caught an unexpected exception.
Please check your CLASSPATH and your installation.
java/lang/NullPointerException

Sometimes I can keep trying to run, and it'll eventually not get an
exception. But if I were to run ant again later, there's a good chance
the exception will occur again.

Is there any more useful information I can provide to help figure this one out?
