the GNU MP library is a library for high performance bug number
operations. Unless you are doing crypto or scientific calculatins,
chances are you won't need it. :)

You seem to have an old installation of kaffeh in your path
(/usr/local/bin), which interacts badly with your new installation. Try
uninstalling the kaffe installation in /usr/local from your development
machine, or remove /usr/local from your $PATH.
