[kaffe] cross compiling for mips

hello all,
I've followed all the faqs and previous tips on the list without success.
I'm using:
CC=mipsel-uclinux-gcc NM=mipsel-uclinux-nm AR=mipsel-uclinux-ar \
CFLAGS="-Os -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-builtin" \
./configure --enable-pure-java-math --disable-sound --without-awt \
--disable-debug --disable-xprofiling --disable-xdebugging \
--disable-feedback --without-profiling --host mipsel-linux --without-stats \
--disable-gcj --build=i686-linux --prefix /tmp/kaffe --with-rt-jar=/rt.jar \
--without-x --disable-mips --disable-mips2 --disable-mips2i \
--without-extensions --without-alsa --without-esd \
--disable-shared --enable-static --with-staticlib --with-staticbin
--with-staticvm \
--with-engine=intrp
And despite the emphasis on static it tries to load libnative (and can't
find it) when trying to run a simple hello world class. (command line help
works when passing no params to kaffe-bin). I've had no success using the
scripts so I'm simply using kaffe-bin.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks
dgreene
