[kaffe] Image problems with Gtk AWT peers

I'm reporting this problem separately, because I believe it has a
different root problem.

If you grab the latest MegaMek CVS HEAD from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/megamek and follow the instructions
described in the file named HACKING to compile the project, and run
MegaMek with the command, "kaffe -classpath
collections.jar:TinyXML.jar:Ostermiller.jar:PngEncoder.jar:classes
megamek.MegaMek -log | tee MegaMek.log", you'll see a problem with the
Splash Screen.  The buttons look correct, but the image won't display.

If you open the Map Editor and click the "OK" button on the Set
Dimensions dialog, you'll see that the hex images are not displayed
correctly.
