My (long run) plan is to merge in GNU Classpath's pure java implementation of
java.util.zip as a --with-pure-java-zip option, and have it used by default if
no implemenation of libz can be found during configure (just like we do with
java.math and GNU gmp now). That should fix such problems ;)
