I hope that the inlining of methods will help expose the current build 
failures on m68k platforms (d0) earlier, i.e. during the compilation of 
common.h., ig the bug is there. Otherwise, I'll gradually convert the 
macros in other m68k files to inline functions until we find the 
offending code.

Riccardo, could you CVS update and try building again?
