AWT problem on linux

Hi there,

        I have a problem when trying to run applications that use the AWT on
linux.

        The problem is that nothing is showing up (it's a very simple GUI, just
an
image in a window, and does not use any events).

        I am running linux 2.0.32 on a dual PentiumPro.

        Any hints as to what may be wrong?
