 To follow up, and given that Pat replied simultaneously to the list,
I should clarify that the changes are not technically related to the
kore changes, it's just that he doesn't have any diffs that show those
changes which relate to debugging only.

Secondly, I think it would also be possible to gradually introduce it, 
and slowly phase out the old debugging macros.  This wouldn't involve
changing too much code at once.  What do you think?
