Problem with Red Hat 5.0

I compiled and installed kaffe-0.92 on Red Hat 5.0 with no problems. I
exported the variables (KAFFEHOME, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and CLASSPATH). The
binaries were installed in /usr/local/bin. But when I run a test program
it says core dumped and the following error : 

# kaffe HelloWorldApp
kaffe: gc-mem.c:175: gc_heap_malloc: Assertion `(uintp)mem >= (uintp)blk
&& (uintp)mem < (uintp)blk + gc_pgsize' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)
