I had some of the same feelings. (It's a loss to the free software
community and all that). But 0.10 was released under the GNU GPL.
This is certainly acceptable to me. And as long as kaffe continues to
be released under licences that meet the Debian free software
guidelines, I have no complaints.
If Tim and the rest at Transvirtual need to put some features
exclusively in a proprietary version, well, that is unfortunate for
the free software community, but it can be difficult to make a living
from freeware.
After the release of 0.10, I'm sure that Tim will do the right thing.
