Cannot build kaffe 0.9.0 on IRIX 5.2

Hi there!

I was unable to build kaffe 0.9.0 on sgi-mips-irix5.2 because the
linker refused to build a shared library using threads.o, generated
from config/mips/threads.s.  It says the object file uses an invalid
ABI.

I managed to get it past this point by adding some directives to the
assembly source file, but now it won't run even HelloWorld, because it
core dumps while initializing some basic classes :-(

I've attached the patch, in case someone knows more about mips'
assembly and can help.  I'm not sure it is this patch that causes the
problems.
