How functional is native thread support in Kaffe?

How functional is the FreeBSD pthreads native thread stuff in Kaffe
0.9.1?

We're porting Kaffe to VRTXsa and would like to try to use native
threads, so it would be nice to know how functional the native threads
support is in Kaffe before we get too far. (It seems Kaffe uses signals
for internal threads but there are no signals in VRTXsa, so we'd like to
try the native thread stuff instead.)
