[kaffe-siteadmin] All the stuff on the server versus my URL
rewriting scheme

Hi all,
Sorry about the relatively slow progress with the new website. There's
a lot of very messy code to be cleaned up, but only about one third of
it remains now.
Now, I made this URL rewriting scheme (Apache mod_rewrite) that I
expect should be used on the new site. It redirects any path on
kaffe.org as GET-variables to index.php. Like,
kaffe.org/documentation/ to kaffe.org/index.php?p=documentation,
without showing it as that, of course.
Now, the problem that remains is all the other things on the website,
that resides there without being part of the website itself. Like the
mailing list archives, the ViewCVS etc.. The adresses for these will
be redirected to the website itself. I see two solutions:
- Moving the stuff to some subdomain, maybe physically (ie. another server)
- Getting some Apache-guru to make a .htaccess that solves the problem
I attached the .htaccess I made.
Also, if you'd like to see how i'm making progress, check
http://proc.is-a-geek.org:5000 . It's the webserver on my laptop, so
it's only available if you're lucky to check in at a time where it's
online. If you would like me to upload it somewhere, say so.
Cheers,
Kristian
